Upcoming September We CAN! meeting

"A book lying idle on a shelf is wasted ammunition. Like money, books must be kept in constant circulation. Lend and borrow to the maximum -- of both books and money! But especially books, for books represent infinitely more than money. A book is not only a friend, it makes friends for you. When you have possessed a book with mind and spirit, you are enriched. But when you pass it on you are enriched threefold." Henry Miller

Our We CAN meeting will be Monday, September 10th at 10:00 a.m. at Barbara Eliason's home at 430 N. Loafer Drive in Elk Ridge.  We will be working on ornaments for our Festival of Trees tree.
We will also be collecting books for  Reading Tree. Books can be children's adults, paperback or hardback.  Children's books will be donated to schools, family literacy programs and International libraries.  Approximately 1.6 million books per year are donated to charity.  Some books are sold to pay for programs.  (Don't go buy new books, just donate books you don't need or want.)

We will have a potluck lunch. Come and bring a friend!

"In the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you can get through, but how many can get through to you." - Mortimer Adler
