"It is not happy people who are thankful, it is thankful people who are happy."
Our January 2019 We CAN service group met on Monday, January 7, 10:00 a.m. at Carolyn's home. We worked on several service projects: (1) tying a quilt; (2) finishing fleece blankets that we already have the fabric for, (3) putting together activity grab bags for children in the hospital and (5) putting together newborn kits for refugees.
We did over 50 newborn kits
Lifting Hands International, is a non-profit organization that helps with the needs of Refugees. This organization that collects, sorts, and packs hundreds of boxes which are shipped to refugee camps around the world. Inside each kit is a knit hat, a onesie, and socks. Many of the hats were made by Doreen and her daughter, Sandy and Nadia made the rest of the needed hats on looms.
